Our Decaf is produced in south-western Colombia by local farmers There, they harvest the Sugarcane, which is used as a decaffeination plant for the coffee beans.
Refining sugarcane naturally derives ethyl acetate – a byproduct compound used in honey extraction. This compound is then diluted with local spring water. The water filtration process means that all substances of a particular weight, including caffeine – are slowly stripped off the coffee beans.
Using this natural decaffeination process means it won’t hinder the coffee’s natural complexities and flavours.
