The Press Room sells its own speciality coffee, sourced from a single origin farm in Brazil, located in the northeast of the State of São Paulo. We committed to partnering with women coffee producers and their families to improve livelihoods and achieve gender equity. As part of the agricultural web, the coffee industry is an industry dependent on the work of women around the globe, Social norms often discriminate against women in rural areas leading to disproportionate land and asset ownership.
Located in the northeast of the State of São Paulo, the Alta Mogiana region named after the railway and known as a traditional coffee area comprises a total of 450 thousand hectares of which 60 thousand hectares dedicated exclusively to coffee production.
According to the Alta Mogiana Specialty Coffee Association (AMSC), an average of 200 million coffee plants crown these lands and are responsible for producing 1 million bags (59kg) per year.
In order to harvest this amount of coffee and still meet the requirements of the specialty coffee market, lots of technology and science are applied on these farms.
The most common processing method is Natural because the climate and altitude are favorable. However, washed coffees can also be found on these properties and the diversity of drying techniques can vary from African beds to drying patios to mechanical dryers.

A suspended coffee is the advance purchase of a hot drink. This purchase gets scored on a blackboard, and is then ready and available for a person in need to request. In particular, this opportunity allows a person to feel a little human again, by queuing, ordering, chatting with our baristas and enjoying some physical and environmental comfort. A suspended coffee can change how a person feels for 20 minutes in their day, but sometimes it can feel like a lifeline for a phase in their life.
