The Press Room, Proud to be Different.

After months of finding the right roasting partner, hedging the price of a coffee bean, working with a Q-grader to get the perfect tasting notes and occasionally feeling overwhelmed by the process, and terrified by the depth of detail..Here we are… (i) Supply chain-> defined, (ii) Distribution methodology -> up and running, (iii) Product -> tried, tested and accepted.

Over the coming months we will be detailing our story, as for now The Press Room is the only Independent Coffee House in Surbiton, that sells its own speciality coffee beans. And via our pre-sales activity we have gained our FIRST AWARD for the BEST COFFEE HOUSE in SURBITON 2024, which we celebrate with honour as we take pride in our Quality and Product Development Journey to date. BTW this award is voted for by you, our Customers, via your reviews which makes this even more special!

Having gained your attention in this moment, it’s worth us broadcasting that Press Room House Espresso is sourced from a single origin farm in Brazil, located North-East of São Paulo. We have committed ourselves to this farm because of the quality of its beans and their agricultural techniques. BUT EVEN BETTER it’s a female run farm which elevates their profile in the coffee industry, improves the welfare of their community and drives them as individuals to be financially independent. In developing countries with strong cultural threads woven into the social fabric of society, women can often be disproportionately affected by land and asset ownership, and this is one way The Press Room can counteract that.

Our Beans are Roasted in Brixton, to give a nutty flavour with a hint of chocolate (that’s the sweetness ejecting from the bean as it heats up). Has a Low to Medium acidity (meaning it’s kinder to your stomach lining, so you can drink more) and is medium to full bodied (it’d quite thick coffee).

New Coffee means New equipment, and we have invested in the Best… (i) La Mazzocco coffee machines and (ii) Mahlkonig E80 grinders. If these products were cars, they would be ferraris!

There is a true sense of collaboration, achievement, and success here at the Press Room. Whilst there are companies which have the never-ending funds to create a brand around their products, we hope to remain a cult hit in communities like Surbiton and bringing the best to the local market.
